Fatah Central Committee chooses a woman to replace Mohammad Dahlan

Fatah Central Committee has chosen 'Amal Hamad' to replace Mohammad Dahlan as a member.
The Fatah Central Committee took the decision today unanimously, to offer Amal Hamad, the second Vice-secretary of the Revolutionary Council of Fatah, the vacant seat of Mohammed Dahlan, the former Member of the Central Committee of Fatah,following the dismissal.
Though this resolution will not become effective before the approval of two thirds of the Revolutionary Council of Fatah movement in its next session.
Fatah was the first Palestinian organization, which had a feminist cadre in its ranks, since 'Jihad Alwazeer' won the membership of the Central Committee of the Movement in the Fifth Conference in 1989.
Amal Hamad, a member of the Secretariat of the General Union of Palestinian Women, has won the last elections that took place in the city of Ramallah, two months prior to the Bethlehem Conference. She is also a member of the Revolutionary Council, and she was the only woman that won during the Gaza Strip elections, as well as winning the seat as the Second Secretary of the Revolutionary Council in the first elections to the Bureau of the Revolutionary Council. She is also the Deputy Commissioner for External Relations on behalf of Nabil Shaath and she is the Director General of the Palestinian Legislative Council.
Amal Hamad who graduated from Birzeit University, was one of the active members of student’s movement and a prominent activist in the Palestinian civil society.
